The first morning drill

Our guide, Stefan, starts off the morning routine with a brief presentation of everyone in the group. He’s the only one who has had contact with everyone. He is the hub. He is the guy everyone in the group wants to know, preferably a little bit better than the other, ideally a little bit longer than the others.

A tall guy called Fripp wins. He has known Stefan since they were six years old. Is that even possible? Was the word friends even invented back then? The rest of us look envious at them when they chat away about memories from early years in Chamonix and memories they don´t even remember.

Stefan snaps back on track again and rolls out the tasks for our first day.
Breakfast 7.30, avalanche drill 9:00, 9:23 powder! I like this place.
